Certificate is signed by Nevada mining pioneer, Jack "Diamondfield Jack" Davis.

Diamondfield Jack:  His given name was Jackson Davis, but he earned the name "Diamondfield" after leaving the Silver City Mining District of Idaho to search for reported diamonds in the nearby hillsides.  Jack Davis was also known as a notorious gunman, hired by a cattle company to keep sheepherders of the cattle lands.  He was once wrongfully accused of murder and sentenced to death, only to be pardoned at the last minute as new evidence proving his innocence surfaced.   Thereafter, Diamondfield Jack decided to join the rush to Nevada.  Upon arriving in Nevada, he  staked several claims and laid out the town of Diamondfield and discovered some of the richest ore-bearing veins in the Goldfield District and was founder of the town of Goldfield.  He also held interest in properties at Bullfrog, Manhattan, Lida, Kawich, and others.    The Goldfield Sky Lark was one of several companies in which Jack Davis held an interest.
