Central City, 1901.
Hand-written contract between the Georgia Pass Mining, Milling, and
Town Co. and individual second party for labor on the Georgia
Placer Claim & tunnel and the Full Moon Claim in Horseshoe Gulch near
Jefferson, Park County.
Interesting hand-written document
that was written at Central City for properties to be worked which were
located near the town of Jefferson in Park County. On the back is
testament of monies advanced and received which is signed at
Colorado Springs, Colorado. Document is in VG+ condition.

Railway Express Co. in Pueblo, Colorado. dated Jan. 1, 1919. A
great document from the American Railway Express Co. for a gentleman
applying for a position in Colorado which includes interesting work
history of applicant: employed as a farmer with father; Post office clerk
for the Government, which he left" to come to Colorado on account of wifes
health"; Agent for Adams Express Co., which he left "to enlist in U.S.
Navy".
A wonderful piece of Express Company
history! Tri-folded, four-page (two-pages front & back) document in
fair to good condition with chips at folds (see scan at right above). A
bit fragile, but still in tact.

Yankee was located several miles west of Central City. There were a
number of small producing mines in the Fall River District, but the
mines played out fairly quickly. Also in the area, and
longer-lived, was the town of Alice.
