Colorado Coal and Iron Development Company

The Colorado Coal and Iron Development Company was the predecessor to the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company (CF&I), which was formed by the merger of the Colorado Coal and Iron Development Company and the Colorado Fuel Company.    CF&I went on to become the largest coal company in the state controlling a large number of coal mines and associated towns.
